Who is Granny?

I'm the incredibly blessed mother of 9, "Granny" to 16, and wife of "The Papa," the knight-in-shining-armor whose loving support has made it possible for me to stay home and give my life to mothering, homemaking, and 26 years of homeschooling. Life at Granny's House is full of laughter, friendship, books, music, lively debate, writing, and good things to eat. My days are made even more meaningful by coming alongside other moms, giving them the support and encouragement that I lacked as a young mother and helping them to network with each other in ways that strengthen homes and families. A few times a year I board a plane to visit my "away" kids, to attend the birth of a grandchild, or to enjoy some lazy days with my best friend, but I always love coming back to...Granny's House.

    F I E S T A !!!
    Y'all need to stroll on over to The Family Grandstand and check out my poetic grandchildren. My daughter is teaching the Japanese "haiku" form of poetry to her sons (and "poetry" and "sons" in the same sentence is enough of a challenge!). She read in the San Antonio newspaper that they were running a contest to see who could write the best haiku about Fiesta, the annual ten-day party here in the Alamo city. So the boys are entering the contest and they've proven what a good teacher their mommy is! Though I can't claim not to be biased, I will be casting MY vote for JONATHAN AND DAVID (Aged 11 and 9!) :-)

    UPDATE: Now you REALLY need to go over there and read all the comments and see some real creativity in action. I disavow any responsibility for the ignorance educational gaps of any of the participants who used to share my last name. A couple of them were obviously absent on haiku day :-)
