Even though classes here at home don't start until Monday, today we start our biology classes taught outside the house so we're off and running on the '08-'09 school year. I still have a lot to accomplish to get ready this week...I don't think there's ever been a year when I still had so much to do the week before we started. And I used to think that waiting until after Labor Day was the sure sign of a slacker! I've mellowed. Or maybe I'm just accepting my age :-)

I'm watching the Republican convention with interest, although the changes caused by Gustav have surely put a damper on the excitement. The GOP certainly did the right thing in revamping the schedule, but I think they'll take a hit in the energy factor and that's unfortunate. The McCain/Palin ticket will have to come out of this week on its own steam, hardly propelled by the scaled down event in St. Paul.
