Decided this week to leave all the calendar pages (yeah, I'm a calendar lover, one or two in every room) on July. Does that work? On the other hand, it would just postpone the onset of cooler weather. Never mind.
My father, who died a few years ago, was one of four boys. All are now with the Lord except for the oldest of the four, and he's now 90 years old. I'm thrilled that we're going to get to see Uncle Jack and Aunt Mary on our way to Tennessee, along with a cousin I haven't seen in way too many years. The older I get, the more precious the connections...
This week we're being treated to a visit with Tyler and Allison J., here from Hawaii. They are pure joy!
I finished three books this week and have several more waiting in line. Did I ever tell you about my major fear in life? Not getting everything read.
In preparation for family vacation, we had satellite radio installed in the Suburban this week. Warning: don't believe 'em when they say it's easy. It may be worth the time and expense, but it ain't easy and it ain't cheap. The actual radio is only the beginning.
I have to shop for a new dryer. Is there anything suspicious about the fact that my mom had the same dryer for 20 years and we're about to buy our third one in seven years? Ugh.
Did you see that kid on TV that does the animal noises, particularly the cow? Amazing.
I'm fairly certain that there won't be any Snippets next week, as we leave for vacation right after church. I'll try to post a few things along the way...
From the morning service, lyrics from one of my favorite hymns:
she waits the consummation of peace forevermore;
till, with the vision glorious, her longing eyes are blest,
and the great church victorious shall be the church at rest.
Have a great week!
